Lion Coffee, part of Hawaii Coffee Company, has been around since 1864. Served everywhere in Hawaii, you don't have to travel to paradise to enjoy some in every cup.

Life would be a bit better, certainly a lot smoother, if every cup of coffee were a cup of Lion coffee. Traveling in Hawaii is a special treat. From tropical flower farms to Waimea Canyon, from the famed North Shore of Oahu to Diamond Head, the islands of Hawaii offer an abundance of sensory treats, including coffee. You just don't get a bad cup of coffee while traveling in Hawaii. With Hawaii Coffee Company in Oahu, it doesn't have to travel far. If you're outside the island paradise, you can have Lion coffee travel to you.

Hawaii - Islands of Contrast

This small chain of islands in the Pacific Ocean offers spectacular scenery and mini climates that offer multiple sightseeing experiences. Some of the contrasts can even be experienced on the same island. All of the following can be found in Hawaii.

The wettest place on earth, Mount Waialeale in Kauai is a place where rain seldom stops. This isn't unpleasant at all. It's usually a comfortable, warm mist, that can be walked in without raincoat or hat without feeling wet. Below Mount Waialeale is Waimea Canyon, almost as dry as the Mountain is wet. The canyon was cut by waters flowing off the mountain, to a depth of about 3600 feet.

Mauna Kea on the Big Island means white mountain in Hawaiian. The mountain is white with snow. Skiing is done, but there is no ski lift. Imagine looking down on a tropical paradise while skiing a snowy slope.

When going to the beach in Hawaii, you have your choice of black, green , or white sand beaches. You can also choose Waikiki, full of tourists and shopping, or more secluded beaches. Each beach is unique.

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is the place to go to see active volcanoes. It claims to be the most visited spot on the island of Hawaii (the Big Island). What a contrast between active volcanoes to that of the picture below of Sacred Falls where the lava is old and covered in the lush, emerald green of tropical vegetation.

Take the Lion Coffee Factory Tour

If you get to Oahu, the factory is well worth visiting. In addition to the Lion brand, the Hawaii Coffee Company roasts world famous Kona coffee that is grown in the Kona coffee region on the Big Island of Hawaii. Only coffee made with beans grown in the small, roughly 50 square mile area can be called Kona coffee. The smell of freshly roasted coffee permeates the 55,000 square foot facility. See for yourself what goes into making truly great coffee.

Tropical Flavored Teas Delight Tea Lovers

The Hawaii Coffee Company sells canisters to keep your coffee fresh, mugs to drink it from, tee shirts to proclaim your love of it, and cookies to dunk in it. Non-coffee drinkers will love the Hawaiian tropical flavored teas whose superb quality equals the quality of the coffees. The teas are full bodied and smooth with no hint of dust. Did you know that caffeine in tea can be reduced by simply throwing out the first cup brewed, and brew a second, less caffeinated, cup from the same bag?

Bringing Lion Coffee to You

The Hawaii Coffee Company ships their products all over the world. They offer a 5 bag club that ships your choice of Lion or Kona Coffees on a monthly or bi-monthly basis. Within restrictions, UPS shipping is free to U.S. addresses after 3 months of shipments. Shipping is charged on any additional items added to the order. The monthly club isn't available on their website, just call the toll free number that is found there. May every day be a great coffee or tea day.

To enjoy with your coffee or tea, try Grilled Bread or Homebaked Bread and Hawaiian Kine Seasonings.
